Van Ditmar's history
In 1924, Van Ditmar Boekenimport was founded by entrepreneur Willem van Ditmar. He saw a gap in the market and started importing American paperbacks for the Dutch market. That he had a good idea is now proven: a century later, Van Ditmar is still a successful importer of, among other things, foreign-language books.
Sinds 1988 hoort Van Ditmar bij het familiebedrijf AudaxSince 1988, Van Ditmar has been part of the family business Audax, founded by the De Leeuw family. This links us to the retail companies Bruna, RDC, and the publishing arm Betapress.
Our team
Our team consists of 17 people, all with their own specialism, but together we make Van Ditmar.
We have one thing in common: our love for books and joy to work with them.
